Christopher Gabriel Brown is an American artist, musician, and inventor whose creative expression spans several disciplines that most people treat as separate. As Cri-One, he produces electronic music whose composition logic is the same logic he uses to shape a chip architecture: subtraction first, layered structure second, the unexpected interval where it counts.
The visual work runs along the same line. Hand-turned Alumilite bowls finished with Australian burl caps, original abstract expressionism in acrylic on canvas, and the disciplined precision that comes from being raised in the workshop of Ron Brown of Ron Brown's Best — a tool maker whose craftsmanship has shaped a generation of woodturners.
